This time, besides the regular delicious vegan Küfa – also known as candle-light dinner – we will gonna have the screening of a short independent movie, and a new Hip Hop selection for our Tresen beats with a special guest. The soli money goes to support a Autonomous Popular Education Group acting in a favela in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, which is fighting against social inequality, evictions and daily police brutality that is increasing with the upcoming WorldCup and the Olympics.
“Tear (Loom)” (15 min., PT with EN subtitles) tells the story of the brazilian Worker’s Movement during the Military Dictatorship in the 60’s. The persecution, prison and torture were practices also employed against the worker class, but unfortunatelly their drama was forgotten by the brazilian filmography dedicated to this topic. The documentary takes place in the quiet district of Santo Aleixo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the chaotic context of civil military dictatorship. A plot with strikes, arrests and tortures related to the coup of 1964 and the workers movement taking action at that time. This story is reconstructed through a deep and sentimental dig into the memories of the textile factory’s workers and the local inhabitants.

Berlin ist stark geprägt von einer Mentalität feste, offen auftretende Strukturen zu meiden und sich temporär und auf Basis eines Zugehörigkeitsgefühls zu verbinden. Dies wollen wir an dieser Stelle nicht bewerten oder bemängeln. Das heißt auf der anderen Seite aber auch, dass wir Orte schaffen müssen, an denen wir über unsere eigenen Zirkel hinaus miteinander in Kontakt kommen um über bestimmte Themen zu diskutieren. Wir halten den persönlichen Austausch neben anonym zirkulierenden Schriften für wichtig.

Was das Thema Demos angeht gibt es viele Diskussionspunkte.

This time at Elotitos we show the short documentary “The Long Struggle for Justice in Guatemala” (15 min., spanish with english subtitles) about the trial of former dictator General José Efraín Ríos Montt and his former chief of Military Intelligence, Mauricio Rodríguez Sánchez for genocide and crimes against humanity. In the documentary survivors of the genocide and survivors of sexualized violence describe their experiences during the civil war.
After the documentary we could show more video material about current struggles in Guatemala or have a discussion round or just hang around at the bar. Rice-Beans-Tortillas-Vokü will start at 20:00, documentary appr. at 21:00.

Diesmal zeigen wir beim Elotitos-Tresen die Kurzdoku „The Long Struggle for Justice in Guatemala“ (15 Min., spanisch mit englischen Untertiteln) über den Prozess gegen den ehemaligen Diktator José Efraín Ríos Montt, der wegen Genozid und Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit vor dem höchsten nationalen Gericht angeklagt war. Im Film kommen Überlebende des Genozids und sexualisierter Gewalt zu Wort und berichten über die Geschehnisse während des Bürgerkriegs.
Nach dem Film können wir entweder weiteres Videomaterial zu Guatemala zeigen oder über die Doku diskutieren oder an der Bar abhängen.

You are invited to a screening of Peter Watkins’ singular masterpiece film ‘La Commune’. The film is in French, with English subtitles. It is nearly six hours long, contains almost no scripted dialogue and was filmed
entirely with amateur actors in one Parisian warehouse and one Parisian street. It is one of the most thrilling and invigorating pieces of political cinema ever made.
We are going to watch the whole thing in one day. There will be an interval with time for food and conversation. We are also preparing a small zine with some contemporary and modern commentaries on the happenings which the film describes, and which will be distributed at the event. The Paris Commune is not a new subject, and we’re sure that most of you are already pretty well informed about the events of Spring 1871. However, we think that atching this movie is important because, apart from the fact that it’s brilliant and harrowing, it forces us to try to understand what something like a revolutionary transmission of information might actually look and feel like. Starts promptly at 14:30.

Fr/Fri, 21.2., 19:00: Tresen gegen Unerträglichkeiten

The very first and fabulous Tresen gegen Unerträglichkeiten. Die Initiative gegen Unerträglichkeiten – Nouvelle Dune lädt ein zum Tresenabend bei Kerzenschein. Es wird geboten: Longdrinks, Pfeffi, ungewohnte Bierspezialitäten, aber auch dieses Sternburg. Außerdem ein veganes Menü (Bunter Salat, Grünkohl mit Seitanwurst und Kartoffeln, Mousse au Chocolat). Eventuell wird um 19.00 Uhr ein Film gezeigt. Die Einnahmen gehen direkt an einen Freund, der ungebetenen morgendlichen Besuch von Staatsschutz und PMS hatte. Sie wollten ungefragt sein Pfand sortieren. Derartige Unhöflichkeit finden wir unerträglich.

This time elotitos bar has a look to the North to our comrades from Oaxaca.
Around 21:00 we show the documentary “Somos Viento” (We are the Wind, spanisch with german and english subtitles) that shows the resistance of local comunities in the region of Istmo de Tehuantepec in Oaxaca, Mexiko, against an international company building a windpark. The film is dealing with the debates about so-called “Green Energy” and growth; speaking are mainly those who, as “affected” and protagonists of the resistance, are ignored by mainstream media.
Filmmakers are present for questions, discussion and introduction.
From 20:00 on we serve the rice-beans-tortillas-vokü.

Diesmal schaut der Elotitos Tresen nach Norden, zu unseren Gefährten in Oaxaca.
Gegen 21:00 zeigen wir die Doku “Somos Viento” (Der Wind sind Wir, spanisch mit englischen und deutschen Untertiteln) über den Widerstand der einheimischen Gemeinden in der Region Istmo de Tehuantepec in Oaxaca, Mexiko, gegen den Bau eines Windparks durch internationale Konzerne. Der Film setzt sich mit den Debatten über die sogenannte grüne Energie und Wachstum auseinander und lässt diejeniegen sprechen, die als “Betroffenen” und Protagonisten des Widerstands von den bürgerlichen Medien weitergehend ignoriert werden. Filmemacher sind anwesend für Fragen, Diskussion und Einführung.
Vorher gibts ab 20:00 die Reis-und-Bohnen-Vokü mit Tortillas.

Die Anarchistische Gruppe Neukölln lädt ein: Eine Referentin der “Initiative in Gedenken an Oury Jalloh e.V.” wird über den Mord an Oury Jalloh und die aktuelle Situation berichten. Alle Spenden des Abends gehen an die Initiative. Im Anschluss an den Vortrag öffnet der Soli-Cocktailtresen und der Kicker steht bereit.

Delicious food and HipHop Tresen as every first and third tuesday a month. The food is vegan and we always have a glutenfree option, the place is wheel chair accessible, no smoking during eating time.
The donations for the food go to a soli-project to support the struggle against police violence and forced evictions in a favela in Rio de Janeiro.

Money goes to the autonomous centre in Xela, Guatemala, which serves as cultural and social space but also as base for Human Rights activities to support indigenous communities in resistance (against land robbery, megaprojects, neoliberalism in general). Hiermit wollen wir Euch alle herzlich einladen, mit uns einen Abend bei Wein und Kerzenschein zu verbringen. In gemütlicher Atmosphäre wollen wir gemeinsam mit euch Lieblingstexte vorlesen. Ihr könnt sowohl Selbstgeschriebenes aber auch “Fremdwerke” mitbringen. Dabei darf es sich um fast alles handeln. Ob Lied, Gedicht, Textauszug, Dialog, oder oder oder.
Danach (ca. 22.30 Uhr) gibt es noch ein kleines Livemusikprogramm mit “Halley Halfknot” und “Beet, Root & Benzene”.

Die monatliche Voküno zeigt diesmal “Das negative Potential”, ein Interview mit Johannes Agnoli (auch bekannt als “Staatsfeind im Lehrstuhl”), das im September 2001 in San Quirico, Lucca (Italien) aufgezeichnet wurde. Agnoli spricht darin u.a. über Subversion, Staatskritik, die Schwierigkeiten emanzipatorischer Bewegungen, das Verhältnis von Anarchismus und Kommunismus und Schlagwörter der Gegenwart. The film will be in german but with english subtitles. 19.30 Uhr Food, 20.30 Uhr Film.
