Di/Tue, 01.04., 20:00: HipHop Bar + KüfA
This time, besides the regular delicious vegan Küfa – also known as candle-light dinner – we will gonna have the screening of a short independent movie, and a new Hip Hop selection for our Tresen beats with a special guest. The soli money goes to support a Autonomous Popular Education Group acting in a favela in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, which is fighting against social inequality, evictions and daily police brutality that is increasing with the upcoming WorldCup and the Olympics.
“Tear (Loom)” (15 min., PT with EN subtitles) tells the story of the brazilian Worker’s Movement during the Military Dictatorship in the 60’s. The persecution, prison and torture were practices also employed against the worker class, but unfortunatelly their drama was forgotten by the brazilian filmography dedicated to this topic. The documentary takes place in the quiet district of Santo Aleixo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the chaotic context of civil military dictatorship. A plot with strikes, arrests and tortures related to the coup of 1964 and the workers movement taking action at that time. This story is reconstructed through a deep and sentimental dig into the memories of the textile factory’s workers and the local inhabitants.
Do/Thu, 03.04., 20:00: SOL-Berlin Vokü
Als Gruppe von ungefähr 35 Menschen haben wir uns Anfang 2013 zusammengefunden, um die Idee von einem selbstbestimmten, gemeinschaftlichen und solidarischen Zusammenleben in einem Hausprojekt umzusetzen. Wir wollen in unserem zukünftigen Zuhause auch Räume gestalten, die öffentlich genutzt werden können, wie Werkstätten und Veranstaltungsräume, um Wohnen und politisches Engagement, dem wir bereits in verschiedenen Kollektiven und Initiativen nachgehen, vereinbaren zu können.
Wir streben an, das Projekt gemeinsam mit dem Mietshäuser Syndikat zu stemmen.
Das passende und finanzierbare Haus haben wir leider noch nicht gefunden, bauen aber nicht nur Traumschlösser, sondern suchen aktiv in Berlin, besichtigen in Frage kommende Häuser und sammeln Direktkredite.
Mit der Vokü möchten wir die Idee vom Hausprojekt nach außen tragen und euch kulinarisch bespaßen.

Sa/Sat, 05.04., 18:30: Offene Veranstaltung zu Demonstrationskultur
Berlin ist stark geprägt von einer Mentalität feste, offen auftretende Strukturen zu meiden und sich temporär und auf Basis eines Zugehörigkeitsgefühls zu verbinden. Dies wollen wir an dieser Stelle nicht bewerten oder bemängeln. Das heißt auf der anderen Seite aber auch, dass wir Orte schaffen müssen, an denen wir über unsere eigenen Zirkel hinaus miteinander in Kontakt kommen um über bestimmte Themen zu diskutieren. Wir halten den persönlichen Austausch neben anonym zirkulierenden Schriften für wichtig.
Was das Thema Demos angeht gibt es viele Diskussionspunkte.

We are a group of vegan anarchists who don’t just concentrate our efforts on animal exploitation but also see the link between veganism and anarchism. Both entail the respect for all forms of life no matter what background, race, culture, gender, sexual preference, age or species.Our goal is to organise an info-day where people can come and exchange ideas and experiences and at the same time have access to good vegan food at an affordable price. The money raised at these events will go to support our veganarchist distro for publishing and distributing related info-material for little or no-money, and to support other projects that work against animal and earth exploitation.

This time at Elotitos we show the short documentary “The Long Struggle for Justice in Guatemala” (15 min., spanish with english subtitles) about the trial of former dictator General José Efraín Ríos Montt and his former chief of Military Intelligence, Mauricio Rodríguez Sánchez for genocide and crimes against humanity. In the documentary survivors of the genocide and survivors of sexualized violence describe their experiences during the civil war.
After the documentary we could show more video material about current struggles in Guatemala or have a discussion round or just hang around at the bar. Rice-Beans-Tortillas-Vokü will start at 20:00, documentary appr. at 21:00.

Diesmal zeigen wir beim Elotitos-Tresen die Kurzdoku „The Long Struggle for Justice in Guatemala“ (15 Min., spanisch mit englischen Untertiteln) über den Prozess gegen den ehemaligen Diktator José Efraín Ríos Montt, der wegen Genozid und Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit vor dem höchsten nationalen Gericht angeklagt war. Im Film kommen Überlebende des Genozids und sexualisierter Gewalt zu Wort und berichten über die Geschehnisse während des Bürgerkriegs.
Nach dem Film können wir entweder weiteres Videomaterial zu Guatemala zeigen oder über die Doku diskutieren oder an der Bar abhängen.
Reis-Bohnen-Tortilla-Vokü gibt’s ab 20:00, der Film beginnt ungefähr um 21:00.

We offer a wide variety of homemade dishes from spreads to cakes with a special focus on gluten-free food as well as cold drinks, tea and coffee zapatista. As often as we can we combine the event with information about the donation purpose (flyers, a movie, an informative talk etc.).
