Description: Das Café Sabot ist ein Ort der Begegnung und des lebendigen Austausches. Wir wollen damit einen Raum schaffen, in dem Menschen die sich für Herrschaftskritik und anarchistische Ideen interessieren, zusammenkommen und darüber diskutieren können. Es gibt einen Infotisch mit Broschüren und Büchern und eine Ecke in der ihr Briefe an Gefangene schreiben könnt.
Neben vorbereitetem Kaffee und Kuchen soll das Café Sabot ein Mitmach- und Mitbringcafé sein. Zu Beginn wollen wir in der großen vorhandenen Küche gemeinsam vegan backen (bringt dazu auch gerne Zutaten mit).
Da wir einen anarchistischen und konsumkritischen Ort erschaffen wollen, ist uns ein wertschätzender und rücksichtsvoller Umgang miteinander wichtig.
Alle Speisen und Getränke sind auf freiwilliger Spendenbasis.

“Verschwinden von Migrant_innen in Mexiko”. Diesmal lädt das Kiez-Café zu einer Veranstaltung zum Thema Verschwinden von Migrant_innen in Mexiko ein.
CAMINOS, Centro de Acompañamiento a Migrantes A.C., ist eine zivile Organisation mit Sitz in Oaxaca, im Süden Mexikos, die seit 2014 zum Themenfeld Migration arbeitet. Die Organisation setzt sich für die Rechte von Migranten und Migrantinnen ein. Eines ihrer Themenfelder ist die Begleitung von Familienangehörigen von verschwundenen Migrant_Innen bei der Suche.
Während die Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos (CNDH) in Mexiko von mehr als 21000 Fällen von entführten und verschwundenen Migranten und Migrantinnen spricht, geht die Zivilgesellschaft von 70.000 bis 150.000 verschwundenen Migranten und Migrantinnen seit 2007 aus.
Eine Mitbegründerin der Organisation berichtet über die aktuelle Situation im Prozess der Suche von verschwundenen Migranten und Migrantinnen aus Oaxaca und über die Schwierigkeiten und Möglichkeiten ihrer Arbeit.

Drinnen wie üblich kühles Bier und Longdrinks. Später Kerzenschein und angenehme Musik, also kommt vorbei und gönnt euch. Info-Workshop mit Out of Action

Politische Aktivität geht oft mit dem Erleben gewalttätiger Situationen einher. Diese können nicht nur körperliche sondern auch psychische Spuren hinterlassen. Dabei handelt es sich nicht um ein privates Problem der Betroffenen, sondern eine gezielte Methode staatlicher Repression, der wir etwas entgegen setzen wollen und müssen.
In unserer Veranstaltung wollen wir uns gemeinsam damit auseinader setzen, wie es zu einem Trauma kommen kann, woran ein Trauma zu erkennen ist und gemeinsam mit euch Möglichkeiten zur Vorbeugung und zum Umgang damit erarbeiten.

The idea is that we listen to selected music together in silence; to share the experience of silent listening which is usually done alone in one‘s room; to not talk because sometimes it‘s nice to just sit with other people without talking, and also because some music is so damn good that it‘s worth listening to in silence.
This time we are going to play a selection of songs from Giles Corey, Have a Nice Life and Afterlives, three music projects of Dan Barrett. Their music can be described as dark folk, shoegaze, ambient, drone, post-punk.
Doors open at 19.00, music begins at 20:30.
All money from the bar goes to the Tempest Library.
This week, if people feel like it, we thought to follow the listening session with a discussion of a chapter from Incognito – Experiences that Defy Identity, a collection of stories written by people on the run from the state. Calais, a city in nothern France, is a gathering point for many migrants, who live there with the aim of crossing over the Channel Tunnel (La Manche) to Britain. Since entering the UK legally is not an option for these people, they attempt to find other ways to cross to the other side of the french-english border, facing real danger and oppression and even risking their lives.
The situation in Calais is only one of many examples of the consequences of European migration policies. Lets fight against the visible and invisible borders that these policies bring about.

This time at Elotitos we show the documentary “el oro o la vida” (Life for Gold, span. with engl. subtitles, 57 min.).
Synopsis: During the last few years, mining multinational corporations are invading Central America. Goldcorp is an example of this, a Canadian mining corporation with the greatest territorial expansion in the region, and we’re already seeing the results of its operations: contamination, disease, community division, and the criminalization of social protest.
In Honduras and El Salvador, indignation and organization are rising. In Guatemala, through Community Consultations, more then 50 Mayan communities have decided to stop the expansion of mining.
Before there will be rice-beans-tortillas-vokü, Soli like always for the social centre in Guatemala.

Anti-Roma sentiment (anti-Gypsyism, anti-tsiganism or Romaphobia*) is deeply entrenched throughout Europe. Roma people and communities continue to experience widespread persecution and stigmatisation, a phenomenon which has been ingrained in European cultures for hundreds of years.

However embracing an anti-oppression framework not only means recognising and challenging systems of oppression which disadvantage people, but also addressing the power and privilege we have which help to enforce them.

On the 23rd of April Brauni will host an anti-racist evening. The following projects have been invited to present their work:

– Little Friends Kindergarten, Inex Film, Belgrade. Self organised kindergarden for Roma children.

Soli for autonomous centre in Guatemala. With the money we support the installation of a social centre in Xela, Guatemala, which serves as base for cultural and Human Rights activities in support of indigenous communities in resistance (against megaprojects, land robbery, neoliberalism in general). The project is open and works with independent organisations, communities and individuals from Guatemala and all over the world – libertary and horizontal. It has contacts to organized communities which they support financially and in terms of personell if this is necessary and desired.If you have further questions don’t hesitate to ask the people at the bar! In order to fund our film “Dead Brother’s”, the first part of the trilogy that focuses on the greek civil war (1946-1949) from the perspective of women that joined the partisan army, we are doing this soli event at 26th of April.

Documentary 2008, 104′ .This is a documentary about the Greek women who fought against the German army during the invasion and the occupation and in the civil war.This film is of essential value for the necessary understanding of who were imprisoned, executed and deported and who were never held to account for their treason, collaboration and the atrocities against their own people, during the bloodiest period of modern Greek history .

Infotour about the movement against the World Cup.
Especially since the mass­ demonstrations in June 2013, many social movements say “no” to the realization of the World Cup in Brazil, coming along with the surge of massive riots in different parts of the country. An increasing number of people has been realizing that the rearrangement of the cities in the light of the world­cup serves mostly corporate and government interests, whereas it has catastrophic impacts mainly on poor people’s life. Especially the working­-class afrobrazilian population is being dispossessed of their homes and neighborhoods and excluded from the right to participate in the transformation process of the city. With the world cup coming closer however, also state repression against any oppositional activity that could constitute a threat for the success of the mega­event, increases. This includes killings in the favelas as well as the detention of activists, accompanied by ideas of creating new “anti­-terrorism” laws.
